2025 is the year of the Wood Snake in Chinese Astrology, and for Western Astrology enthusiasts, it is a year of acceleration and change!
2025: Urges us to:
– Change
– Try new things
– Take the path less traveled
– Develop your own leadership
– Focus on your empowerment
From April 2025 to March 2026 –
– Compromise is possible, but may need to continue compromising for a year until conditions are settled
– You will need to maneuver/adjust to feel comfortable – safe
The world last experienced the Wood Snake in 1965, coinciding with the initiation of a huge cultural shift between the WWII generation and the anything-goes-Flower-Power-Children (Hippies) of the 1960s.
It was the closing of post WWII-era Baby Boomers who returned from war to settle into picket-lined suburbia. They bought Westinghouse appliances that Mom used to prepare dinner, while Dad went off to work in a suit and tie with briefcase in hand.
Bob Dylan moved our Baby Boomer/Hippie generation with “The Times They Are A Changin’” even though folk music was waning. Shortly thereafter, Dylan performed on a Fender electric guitar at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival followed by Jimi Hendrix at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967.
This helped amplify (no pun intended), the careers of Janis Joplin, Grace Slick, Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Patsy Cline, and Aretha Franklin as they became household names.
Parades of bra-burning feminist activists filled the streets with signs for NOW, Equal Rights and the Women’s Movement, led by Gloria Steinem and Betty Friedan.
The Beatles and the Rolling Stones captivated our attention along with: Gerry and the Pacemakers, the Searchers, the Dave Clark Five, the Hollies, Herman’s Hermits, Peter and Gordon, the Animals, the Yardbirds, the Moody Blues, the Kinks, the Who, the Bee Gees, Dusty Springfield, Petula Clark and more.
John Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, and Martin Luther King were all assassinated and there was a revolution in social norms, clothing, music, drugs, dress, sexuality and civil rights.
Neil Armstrong walked on the Moon in July 1969.
The transition from WW II veterans into the “Hippie” era was transformational!
Reality came crashing through our barriers again on September 11, 2001, and while we recovered, another cultural shift began.
In 2008, Pluto moved from ever-expansive, truth-seeking Sagittarius into practical, reality-based Capricorn.
Pluto as an archetypal symbol, represents the beginning of life, death, and rebirth. It’s mythological association is the Phoenix.
Pluto’s process is one of probing, uncovering, confronting, and eliminating that which inhibits and no longer serves our evolution.
Pluto was last in the sign of Capricorn during the creation of the US Constitution – the Declaration of Independence in 1776. That represented the birth of a structure.
Pluto completed its 248-year revolution around the Sun just as the 2024 US elections ended in November 2024. 1776+248=2024.
Capricorn is an activation archetype, and it rules structures, society, politics, institutions, banking, consciousness, social roles and personal agency, linear time, accountability, self-mastery, status quo, aging, mortality, and the recognition of limits related to our daily reality.
In 2008, Pluto in Capricorn swung the wrecking ball of demolition on systems, structures, and consciousness that have outworn their utility.
The U.S. government decided to purchase about $500 billion in distressed assets from financial institutions.
That $500 billion dollars in 2008 would now be worth $750,541,210,504 or more than three-quarters of a trillion dollars. Prices increased by 50.1% over that time, with inflation averaging 2.42% per year.
2008-2023 was a demolition phase. 2023-2044 is the renovation phase of our global community.
2008 ended with a bang as our banking system underwent major demolition, beginning with the Goldman-Sachs bailout.
Life as we all knew it seemed to have changed permanently. We had already reached the day-to-day limit of our practical reality because according to universal principle, our systems had outlived their effectiveness.
Effectiveness does not necessarily refer to the same thing as purpose. However, effectiveness must be inherent in a structure to serve the purpose.
Pluto in Capricorn accelerates the process of bringing a contemporary era to a close while simultaneously building a new framework. Nothing was more evident than COVID at the tail end of Pluto in Capricorn (the structure of society has changed!)
Pluto moved from Capricorn briefly into Aquarius in 2023 (for 80 days) before moving back into Capricorn to finish its tour of our systems and structures.
PLUTO IN AQUARIUS
Pluto moved back into Aquarius on November 20, 2024, and will remain in that sign until January 19, 2044.
During this timeframe, we will all be moving in the direction of liberation from the known
That may sound exciting and overwhelming at the same time.
Aquarius is an acceleration archetype, and it seems like time is speeding up or at least, demanding more of us.
It is the archetypal ruler of liberation from conditioning, rebellion, change, discovery, inventiveness, astrology, climatology, trauma, Higher Intelligence, and the future, i.e., that which is yet to be experienced or known.
So, where are we headed?
This 20-year transit will accelerate the shedding, demolition, and restructuring process begun during Pluto in Capricorn years (2008-2023).
There will be groups and/or cultures which will meet the mandate with foresight – utilizing cooperative, inclusive, and visionary ways. Others will meet the inevitability of the changing times with varying degrees of resistance.
Struggle or resistance to necessary change, sets up the potential for the shockwave (Uranian) experience, including harsh repercussions, out-of-the-blue conditions, and catastrophic life changes.
Aquarius, the ruler of Uranus, awakens, liberates, accelerates, and revolutionizes.
It is the archetype that shatters barriers and breaks records
The process is disruptive, destructive, and constructive, ending and birthing at the same time
Pluto in Aquarius years will usher in pervasive and non-negotiable change beyond what we currently understand.
It is set to radically alter our everyday life across domains such as our life philosophy, culture, politics, economics, and value-based preferences.
How it affects each of us daily depends upon where Pluto in Aquarius is moving by transit, through our natal chart.
Jaw dropping news or revelation today may become tomorrow’s reality. Technology is positioned for expansive growth, and we have already experienced AI in everyday life with the availability of ChatGPT.
The growing threat to survival on the planet (Uranus in Taurus, 2018-2026), requires that we accelerate finding new ways, means, and solutions to survive when it comes to food, housing, and management of our atmosphere. Uranus in Taurus insists that we give more consideration to living simply to ensure survival.
My colleague Rose Marcus stated,
“We must recognize the critical role we play regarding the shaping of the future, the responsibility we all share, and the ripple effect of every thought, every word, every action, every moment.”
Living more sustainably also includes the rise in popularity of rooftop gardens, 3-D printing of construction materials, the ethical use of AI, and working remotely, as an example.
Pluto in Aquarius additionally refers to DNA changes in our species.
The gender spectrum has been visibly expanding for decades. Discussions and demonstrations of gender fluidity, including living more openly as a transgender human, are on the rise.
Kilts and nail polish for men, buzz haircuts and neck tattoos for women are part of the daily fabric of life that guide us toward androgyny. While a majority consensus finds that unappealing, the reality of soul maturity is that the more we evolve, the less we will identify with traditionally prescribed male and female roles.
In fact, the soul is neither male nor female, but rather, a unification of qualities, creating a range of expression
Aquarius is the great awakener so we will produce visionaries and exceptional human beings over the next 20 years because their presence is necessary to the survival of our species.
Since Pluto in Aquarius archetype rules the mind, those of us who work with the anatomy and potential of cognitive capabilities will find our industries to be more highlighted.
Just like the rise of computers, another Aquarian archetype, our ability to speed up our brains will be on the rise. This is not necessarily through multitasking, but rather our species’ ability to maintain balance within our nervous system (ruled by Aquarius) as we share our leading-edge talents and skills.
Speeding up our brains will happen simultaneously with becoming even more sensitive to increasing stimuli. This provokes our anatomy into a new era of skillful adaptation to embrace the requirements of successful daily functioning.
People on the autism spectrum may find their unique genius to be more easily accepted than in the past. They may become the progressive specialists whom society needs to navigate impenetrable mysteries so that evolution may take place.
Aquarius also refers to mental health so we can expect to see an increase in PTSD, depression, and other mental health issues as well as a movement to better understand and work with these conditions.
As mentioned earlier, the Aquarius archetype additionally deals with trauma and fragmentation and as such, is intricately involved in our long-term memory.
Our soul imprint experiences are etched upon and archived within our subconscious in our own, unique personal library. These past-life memories and/or fragments represent the longitudinal experiences of our soul’s journey over time.
There may be a rise in Past Life Regressions as an experience modality and/or it may become normalized as a route to understanding more of who we are.
We have so much to experience in each lifetime and this upcoming 20-year acceleration and transition period will help us move beyond all that we’ve known into what has been dubbed, the “Golden Age”.
The Golden Age may also refer to: ascension, evolution, integration, the Age of Aquarius, 5D, shift in consciousness, Oneness, New Earth, and other reference points.
Whatever it means to you, it is sure to be fascinating since everything associated with Aquarius deviates from the norm and is imbued with a quality of uniqueness and liberation from the known.
Great stuff!! Thank you sharing your informative thoughtful layout of the times to come.
Fyi, I am a wood snake born in 1965. I’m holding my hat and collecting my seeds, for what ever comes next.
